Incident #: 26-1543Location: 1100 block of S. Main Street
Date: April 12, 2026Time: 12:14 am
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers responded to the 1100 block of S. Main Street for the report of an assault and battery complaint. The caller reported that they had witnessed an assault between a male and female, and they were possibly leaving in a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officers met with the witnesses who provided witness statements about what they had observed and stated that no assault had taken place. Officers located the reported victim and the possible suspect, identified as a 36-year-old Grass Lake woman, and separated and interviewed them separately about what had taken place. After conducting interviews, it was determined that there had been no injuries sustained, and the victim did not wish to prosecute at the time of the report. A report was filed and turned over to the investigator, and the case was closed.
Incident #: 26-1517Location: 400 block of Madison Street
Date: April 10, 2026Time: 10:09 pm
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Madison Street for the report of a possible domestic assault. Upon arrival, the officers found that the parties had separated themselves, and one of the involved parties had come to the Chelsea Police Department to separate himself from the situation, and the other party remained at the residence. Officers made contact with both parties involved and gathered statements regarding what had taken place. Both parties stated that an argument and physical altercation had taken place, but the details of what transpired were different when it came to who the aggressor was. After officers viewed the scene and gathered the statements, the suspect was identified as a 50-year-old Chelsea woman. The case remains open pending submission of the warrant and review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s office to determine whether any criminal charges will be authorized.

Date: April 8, 2026Time: 5:13 pm
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of S. Main Street for the report of an attempted fraud complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant, who stated that the suspect had entered the business and had paid for merchandise with a one-hundred-dollar bill. The complainant stated that staff checked the bill and determined it to be counterfeit. The suspect was reportedly last seen heading north on S. Main Street in a dark grey Dodge Durango. The counterfeit bill was logged into evidence. The case remains open pending further investigation into the identity of the unknown suspect.

INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of S. Main Street for the report of an assault complaint. The victim had reported that she had been struck in the head by the suspect, identified as an 82-year-old Chelsea man. Officers separated the parties involved and obtained a statement from the victim regarding what had occurred. At the time of the report, there were no visible injuries, and the parties involved refused any medical attention. The involved parties were released from the scene, and the case was turned over to the investigator for submission to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s office for review.
