The Rev. Trish Farrell of North Lake United Methodist Church in Chelsea/Dexter Township delivered the invocation Thursday, April 30, 2026, on the floor of the Michigan House of Representatives at the invitation of state Rep. Jennifer Conlin, D-Ann Arbor.
Farrell, known locally for her work on equity and human rights, offered a prayer focused on unity, respect and shared responsibility.
“Deepen their understanding and renew their shared commitment to the work of respect, peace, unity, and equity,” Farrell prayed. “For this is the faithful work of a people’s representative, to honor one another.”
Conlin’s invitation highlighted her emphasis on collaborative governance and public service.
