Chelsea Soccer Stays Near Top of SEC White

The Chelsea girls’ soccer team picked up a pair of conference wins as the Bulldogs try to keep pace with Adrian near the top of the SEC White standings.

The Bulldogs opened the week with a 5-1 win over Tecumseh.

Avery Cousino scored a pair of first half goals to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 halftime lead.

It remained that way until Cousino netter her third for a hat trick with 25 minutes left to push the lead to 3-1.

A few moments later Emma Ruszkiewicz scored on a corner kick to make it 4-1 and Ella Radomski finished off the scoring with six minutes left to make the final 5-1.

Chelsea then blanked Jackson 4-0 April 15 to improve to 3-1 in the SEC White.

Cousino continued her torrid scoring pace with two more goals for the Bulldogs.

Ruszkiewicz and Kate McKenzie scored one goal each for Chelsea, while Izzy D’Alacy  earned the clean sheet in net.

The Bulldogs improved to 5-3 overall on the season.
