Incident #: 26-1721Location: 100 block of Dewey Street

INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Dewey Street for the report of malicious damage to property. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the complainant, who took the officer to their backyard and showed the officer a shed, and that is where they had found that a window on the shed had been broken inward into the interior of the shed. The complainant stated that he had been out of town for approximately a week and when he returned, he discovered that the window had been broken at some point during that time. The complainant stated that there has been an ongoing legal dispute with a neighbor over the property, and it was suspected that the neighbor may have been the one to cause the damage to the window. The officer identified the suspect as a 61-year-old Chelsea woman and an attempt to make contact with them was unsuccessful. The case was investigated and submitted to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review to determine if charges would be authorized.

INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer made contact with a complainant regarding a report that her vehicle had been damaged while parked in the 14000 block of E. Old US 12. The complainant stated that they had parked their vehicle at approximately 12:00 pm on Sunday, April 26th, and when they returned to their vehicle at 1:30 pm, there was a large scratch/scrape on the back of the vehicle. The complainant stated that a similar incident occurred several months ago, and she believes that the damage is being done in a malicious manner. At the time of the report, there was no suspect information available. The case was turned over to the investigator for any additional investigation.
