Incident #: 26-1270	Location: 700 block of S. Main Street
Date: March 28, 2026		Time: 12:16 pm
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Main Street for the report of a felony damage to property complaint. Upon arrival, the officer met with the complainant, who stated that he had been operating his aerial drone in the 700 block of S. Main Street when it was struck by an unknown object, and he lost sight of it. The complainant stated that he located the drone a short time later, lying in a bush and heavily damaged. The complainant stated that he had not been recording at the time of the incident and was not flying at an unsafe distance, posing a risk of injury to bystanders. Officers interviewed a witness in the area who stated they observed the suspect, identified as a 61-year-old Chelsea woman, use a tall sign to hit the drone out of the sky. The officer made contact with the suspect, who admitted she had struck and damaged the item. The case remains open pending submission of the warrant and review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office to determine whether charges would be authorized.

Incident #: 26-1348	Location: 1200 block of S. Main Street
Date: April 1, 2026		Time: 8:59 pm
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer responded to the 1200 block of S. Main Street regarding a report of counterfeit currency that had reportedly occurred around 6:07 pm. The complainant stated that they had recently discovered that two separate employees had been presented with and accepted counterfeit currency. A review of video surveillance revealed that two suspects entered the location at approximately the same time, then separated, and purchased an item using four prepaid Visa gift cards in total. The suspects then paid for the items with counterfeit currency. Upon the officer’s arrival, the suspects were no longer on scene. The case was turned over to the investigator for further investigation.
