Dexter Baseball Takes Four of Five

The Dexter baseball team was one of the few teams that was able to play a handful of games due to the wet weather last week.

The Dreadnaughts improved to 5-1 in the SEC Red with a three-game sweep of Ann Arbor Skyline.

Dexter pitching and defense held the Eagles to just one run in the three games against Skyline.

The Dreads scored single runs in the first, third and sixth on their way to a 3-1 win in the opener.

Mason McAllister struck out ten and allowed four hits for the complete game win on the mound.

Colin Jarboe collected two hits, including a double and two rbi to lead the offense.

 Kellen McConnell had a hit and rbi, while Cooper Arnedt and Connor Granger each had a hit and run scored. Brady Arbaugh and Evan Pregant each had a double.

Cayden Cappelli allowed just one hit and struck out eight for the win in the second game.

 Arbaugh led the hitting attack with two doubles and a rbi.

Cole Novara had a hit, rbi, and two runs scored, while Brody Barber had a hit and run scored. Pregant and McConnell had one hit each.

The Dreadnaughts finished off the three game sweep with a 9-0 win in a game that was pushed to Friday due to the weather.

Andrew Cusick earned the win, striking out six in five innings. Novara and Carson Brandt each struck out two in one inning of work.

Jarboe led the offense with two hits and three rbi, while Arbaugh had two hits, and four runs scored.

Granger had two hits and rbi and McConnell one hit.

Dexter split a non-league doubleheader with Williamston Saturday, taking the opener 11-5 and dropping the second 10-8 in eight innings.

Arnedt had two doubles and four rbi with Jarboe adding two doubles and two rbi in the opener.

McConnell added a hit and rbi, Novara a hit and two runs scored, Cappelli a hit and run scored, and Jake Stepaniak one hit for Dexter.

Ray Eby struck out four in 4.1 innings for the win.

Dexter rallied from dive runs down in the seventh to tie the game but came up short when the Hornets scored two in the eighth for a 10-8 loss in the second game.

Arnedt had two hits and two runs scored, while Jarboe, McConnell, and Charlie Wright each had a hit and rbi. Granger added a hit and run scored, while Pregant and Barber each added one hit.
