The Dexter City Council approved a resolution April 13 proclaiming April 24, 2026, as Arbor Day in the city.
To mark the occasion, the city, along with students from Wylie Elementary School, will distribute about 350 free tree seedlings and 100 additional transplants to residents. Species include White Pine, White Cedar, Black Hills Spruce, Black Oak, Northern Pecan, and Paper Birch.
Seedlings will be available April 24 at multiple locations:
- Busch’s, Dexter District Library, Monument Park Gazebo: 9:00 -10:30 am, 12:15-1:45 pm
- Dexter Mill: 2:00-4:00 pm
The annual event promotes the environmental and community benefits of trees, from improving air quality to enhancing neighborhood character.
