SUMMARY:Natural Dye Workshop with Marigolds & Shibori at Maggie's Organics

SUMMARY:Families Invited to Run\, Play\, and Give Back at RunTough Family Fun Day
DESCRIPTION:Looking for a fun and meaningful way to kick off the school year?\nMark your calendar for Sunday\, September 28\, when RunTough Family Fun Day\, presented by Genthe Automotive\, returns to Saline High School with something for everyone! \nNow in its 12th year\, the event has been reimagined with families in mind. New this year\, RunTough Family Fun Day features: \n\nA 1-mile off-road “Tough Run” for all ages\nA friendly Punt\, Pass & Kick challenge for sports lovers of all ages\nFood trucks and a charity fair highlighting local causes\nA lively Family Fun Zone packed with games\, inflatables\, and activities\n\nWhether you walk\, run\, toss a football\, or just join for a great day out with your family\, RunTough Family Fun Day has something for everyone. And if you can’t make it in person\, you can still join the fun by registering as a Virtual 5K participant. Virtual participants receive an event shirt and are encouraged to post photos using #RunTough throughout the month of September\, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. \nSAVE NOW – Early bird registration is open through Thursday\, July 31. \nRegister Now! \nThe Reason We Rally \nRunTough is more than a fun community event — it’s a tradition rooted in love\, remembrance\, and purpose. \nThe event was created in honor of Chad Carr\, who passed away in 2015 at the age of 5 after a brave fight against diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG)\, the deadliest form of childhood cancer. The local Saline event takes place each year on the weekend of what would have been Chad’s birthday. \nChad was the grandson of former Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr and the son of long-time Saline residents Jason and Tammi Carr. What began as a way to support the Carr family during Chad’s battle has since become a powerful movement. Over the past 12 years\, RunTough has raised millions of dollars to fund critically needed research through the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation\, which the Carrs co-founded to honor Chad’s legacy and bring hope to families facing the same devastating diagnosis. \n“It’s become more than a race — it’s a true celebration of Chad’s life and spirit\,” said Tammi Carr. “It brings the entire community together in a way that’s joyful\, meaningful\, and full of love.”

SUMMARY:Natural Dye Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the beauty and abundance of nature while using the gifts it provides. Bundle dyeing is the perfect way to start your dye journey! It is a simple form of eco-printing where you roll flowers and other natural dyestuffs within a textile\, tie it and place it above hot steam. The naturally-occurring pigments within the plants will bind to the textile and create gorgeous dyes and patterns. It is a creative and fascinating way to appreciate the beauty\, color and also\, the impermanence of flora. We will talk about what dyestuffs work the best\, how to preserve the color as long as possible\, and artistic approaches such as composition and technique. While our bandanas are steaming\, we will have time for questions and answers regarding natural dyeing or\, you can take a break and shop the store and chat it up with owners Tobie and Joe. Come with curiosity\, wonder and a good attitude and get ready to learn something new!  \nRegistration is required. Check out the link for more information and to secure your spot.
