SUMMARY:Telegraph Quartet – From the Heart
DESCRIPTION:Experience an evening of striking emotional clarity as the Telegraph Quartet brings From the Heart to life\, three works that open intimate windows into the composers’ inner worlds. Now in their 11th season and praised for their “brilliance and subtlety\,” the Naumburg Award–winning ensemble guides listeners through Haydn’s elegant yet surprising Op. 54 No. 2\, Bacewicz’s fiery and fearless Piano Quintet No. 1\, and Rochberg’s deeply human Quartet No. 3. With their signature blend of precision and warmth\, the Telegraph Quartet reveals the sincerity and vulnerability at the core of each piece. This program invites audiences to experience music not just as sound\, but as powerful\, personal expression\, crafted and shared From The Heart.

SUMMARY:Lecture Series – The Great American Songbook: What Makes it Great? Special Stephen Sondheim Edition Part 1
DESCRIPTION:Kerrytown Concert House is honored to bring back the enormously popular lecture series\, The Great American Songbook: What Makes it Great? featuring the incomparable Brent Wagner (University of Michigan Emeritus Professor of Musical Theatre) with pianist Tyler Driskill (U-M Asst. Prof of Musical Theatre). \nExploring Stephen Sondheim’s work is a natural ‘sequel’ to the fall Rodgers and Hammerstein presentation\, since Oscar Hammerstein was Sondheim’s teacher and mentor. With Sondheim’s passing just 4 years ago\, major revivals and reassessments are proliferating\, as we all appreciate Sondheim’s monumental achievements anew. He was surely the most impactful and inventive writer since Oscar Hammerstein himself. \nPart One highlights Sondheim’s early years\, including his work with composers Jule Styne (Gypsy)\, Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story)\, and Richard Rodgers (Do I Hear a Waltz?)\, along with his scores for the madcap farce A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and the zany\, eccentric Anyone Can Whistle. All of these were leading to his 1970 landmark\, Compa

DESCRIPTION:The Chelsea Evening Primrose Garden Club is pleased to welcome Joe Schlenke as our February guest speaker. Joe is a local forager\, gardener\, and co-owner of Chelsea Farmers Supply. A little bit of science\, a little bit of folk wisdom\, and unbelievable and surprising facts await! \nThis event is brought to you by the Evening Primrose Garden Club and is open to the public. Snacks & beverages provided. \nCost:\nClub Members: Free / Non-members $5.00 \nTo register for this event send an email to: EPGardenClub98@gmail.com \nYou are also welcome to stay for a brief club meeting after the presentation. SUMMARY:Best of Broadway - Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber & More…
DESCRIPTION:This Valentine’s Day… Whether you’re a fan of Broadway\, classical\, or even rock\, this program of Andrew Lloyd Webber showstoppers and more has something for everyone. Terry Barber and Shelley Keelor breathe new life into hits from many of Broadway’s most beloved shows\, reacquainting you with characters from CATS\, Jesus Christ Superstar\, Evita\, Aspects of Love\, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat\, Les Miserables\, Chicago\, Hamilton\, The Phantom of the Opera\, and more! \n  \nLiterally “setting the stage” for this production is a replica backdrop of the Paris Opera House (Palais Garnier) where the real Phantom of the Opera haunted over 100 years ago causing a chandelier to crash into the audience killing a woman and injuring several others. We will not be recreating that piece of history for you! Don’t miss this epic performance or you may be haunted by your disappointment! \n  \n“Barber has star quality!” – Atlanta Journal – Constitution \n  \nBIO\nInternational countertenor\, Terry Barber\, a former member of the multiple Grammy Award winning group “Chanticleer” is an 8 x Grammy nominee for his most recent solo own album\, “Reimagined: Mercury”. Barber has sung in 17 languages to date and been a soloist for the top venues around the world from the Metropolitan Opera\, to Carnegie Hall\, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall\, and Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall to name just a few. \n  \nCo-star of the show\, Shelly Keelor is a Silver Palm and Carbonell award-winning actor\, singer and international soloist. She’s starred in leading roles at theaters across the country as Snow White / Disenchanted\, Trish / Kinky Boots\, Beggar Women / Sweeny Todd\, and many more. \n  \nAlso joining the cast is a world-class chamber orchestra including Grace Betry (piano)\, Noah Hertzman (cello)\, Timothy Nicholas (violin)\, and Rick Kissinger (Flute\, Clarinet\, and Saxophone). \n  \nBCPA Tech Club Fundraiser \nDoors to the lobby open at 6:30pm. Come support concession sales during this show that will serve as a fundraiser for the BCPA’s student theater Tech Club.  \nBehind every great show at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts is a team making the magic happen! The BCPA Student Tech Club is where students learn the ins and outs of stagecraft\, from mastering the light board and perfectly balancing sound to managing backstage cues.

SUMMARY:Lecture Series – The Great American Songbook: What Makes it Great? Special Stephen Sondheim Edition Part 2
\n  \nExploring Stephen Sondheim’s work is a natural ‘sequel’ to the fall Rodgers and Hammerstein presentation\, since Oscar Hammerstein was Sondheim’s teacher and mentor. With Sondheim’s passing just 4 years ago\, major revivals and reassessments are proliferating\, as we all appreciate Sondheim’s monumental achievements anew. He was surely the most impactful and inventive writer since Oscar Hammerstein himself. \nPart Two focuses on Sondheim’s own “Golden Age\,” encompassing his work with director Hal Prince\, including Company\, A Little Night Music\, Sweeney Todd\, Merrily We Roll Along\, and continuing with his collaborations with James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George\, Into the Woods). These works continue to stimulate\, entertain\, and… astonish!
