FDA Recall: Breeder’s Edge and Shelter’s Choice Milk Replacers

Revival Animal Health, LLC has announced a voluntary recall of its Breeder’s Edge® Foster Care® Canine and Shelter’s Choice® Canine Milk Replacers due to inconsistent levels of Vitamin D. These variations could lead to both low and elevated levels of Vitamin D, posing potential health risks to dogs. This recall affects consumers nationwide, as the products were distributed online and in retail pet stores across the United States.

The affected products are packaged in various sizes and include stand-up resealable bags and 12 oz jars. Specific lot numbers for the recalled items include best-by dates ranging from 2026 to 2028, with UPC codes 817160011087, 817160011070, 817160011056, 817160010189, 817160011025, 817160010172, and 817160010073.

Dogs consuming these products may exhibit symptoms such as vomiting, increased thirst, and excessive drooling, with severe cases potentially leading to renal dysfunction. Consumers are urged to stop using these products immediately and to contact Revival Animal Health for a full refund. If any adverse symptoms are observed in pets, contacting a veterinarian is advised. For more information, consumers can reach out to the company at 1-877-870-4059 during business hours.
