It’s Spring and that means it’s time for the annual Dexter Community Schools Spring Art Walk.
Install day was on April 16, so the walk is ready in the downtown participating businesses in Dexter. The show runs from April 18th through Sunday, May 17th.
This year’s show has grown to include the Graphic Arts Classes and Housing and Interior Design Classes from Dexter High School, so that means that the show now includes all nine school district Art Teachers from every building.

This includes: Kristin Walters (Y5-2 Anchor), Ashley Dorr (Y5-2 Beacon), Val Eninsche (3-4 Wylie), Kirsten Butler (5-6 Creekside), Clara Engel (7-8 Mill Creek), Krickett Chamberlain 9-12 DHS Fine Arts), Roger Sprau (9-12 DHS Fine Arts), Nick Stanko (9-12 DHS Graphic Arts) and Will Floss (9-12 DHS Housing & Interior Design).
The show has also expanded to a few new downtown businesses bringing the participating number up to 14 total local businesses: PNC Bank, Hearts & Flowers, Hackney Ace Hardware, Dexter Bakery, Dexter Print And Embroidery, Huntington Bank, Grace Proper, Courageous Books, Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill, Turchin Jewelers, Shear Bliss Salon, Dexter Creamery, Dexter’s Pub and the Dexter District Library.
“We encourage the community, whether they have a child or relative in Dexter schools and the show or not, to take some time over the next few weeks to enjoy the local businesses and the artwork hanging in them!” DHS Art Teacher Krickett Chamberlain said.
The work can be viewed during each businesses normal business hours.
