Saline Mayor Brian Marl announced he will seek reelection in November 2026.

“I am excited to share that I will be a candidate for reelection in November 2026,” said Mayor Marl. “Perhaps more than ever before, now is the time for continuity of leadership. We need a Mayor with a positive, clear, and consistent vision, and a track record of bringing together diverse groups to confront our community’s shared challenges.”

Marl said his priorities include ongoing city projects and core services.

“Several issues persist, but I also see countless opportunities in the years ahead. Our shared priorities will include rehabilitation of our Wastewater Treatment Plant, successful completion of our downtown gathering space, activating and sustaining the Davenport-Curtiss property, enhancements to our municipally-owned Rec Center and parks, along with additional efforts to attract dynamic businesses to the Saline community. My focus will remain on the issues that matter most – financial stewardship, economic development, support for public safety, investment in City infrastructure, and openness/transparency in City government.”

“If given the opportunity to continue serving, I know I can continue to build momentum to help make Saline a more sustainable and vibrant community,” he said.

Marl has served as mayor since 2013 and previously served on City Council.

A campaign kickoff event is scheduled for May 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack in downtown Saline. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell and former State Representative Felicia Brabec are expected to attend.

The campaign also released endorsements from several local leaders, including State Rep. Morgan Foreman, former Council Member Chuck Lesch, Mainstreet board member Rebecca Scheider, and Council Member Jamess Dell’Orco.
