Road Work Plan in Lima Township

Lima Township and the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) have a road work plan for this year that includes work estimated to come out to a total of $492,000.

With work expected on roads like Freer and Guenther, Lima Township and the WCRC have agreed upon a list of road work under its 2026 agreement, which was approved at the April township board meeting. The agreement will see Lima putting forth $351,689, with the county’s local matching funds at $140,311.

Here are the planned projects:

Gross Road, Steinbach Road to Parker Road (1.01 Miles): Work to include drainage improvements, heavy brushing, shaping the existing surface, and the application of 5″ of 23A Limestone (C.I.P.) (approximately 2,900 tons) with associated dust control and project restoration. Estimated total project cost: $ 88,000.

Freer Road, Jerusalem Road to End of Pavement (0.96 Miles): Work to include drainage improvements, forestry, shaping the existing surface, and the application of 5″ of 23A Limestone (C.I.P.) (approximately 2,900 tons) with associated dust control and project restoration. Estimated total project cost: $ 103,000.

Guenther Road, Jerusalem Road to Scio Church Road (1.65 Miles): Work to include drainage improvements, forestry, heavy brushing, shaping the existing surface, and the application of 5″ of 22A Gravel (C.I.P.) (approximately 5,400 tons) with associated dust control and project restoration. Estimated project cost: $ 163,000.

Steinbach Road, Trinkle Road to Gross Road (0.83 Miles): Work to include drainage improvements, heavy brushing, shaping the existing surface, and the application of 5″ of 22A Gravel (C.I.P.) (approximately 3,200 tons) with associated dust control and project restoration. Estimated project cost: $ 79,000.

Trinkle Road, Parker Road West (0.40 Miles): Work to include canopy trimming and tree cutting as required to achieve project functionality for future road improvements. Estimated project cost: $ 5,000.

Dancer Road, Dexter-Chelsea Road North to Railroad Crossing (0.50 Miles): Work to include canopy trimming and tree cutting as required to achieve project functionality for future road improvements. Estimated project cost: $ 10,000.

Beach Road, Dancer Road to Lima Center Road (1.17 Miles): Work to include canopy trimming and tree cutting as required to achieve project functionality for future road improvements. Estimated project cost: $ 20,000.

Lima Center Road, Dexter-Chelsea Road to Trinkle Road (1.02 Miles): Work to include canopy trimming and tree cutting as required to achieve project functionality for future road improvements. Estimated project cost: $ 12,000.

Lima Center Road, Seitz Drive to Trinkle Road (0.77 Miles): Work to include canopy trimming and tree cutting as required to achieve project functionality for future road improvements. Estimated project cost: $ 12,000.
