At a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dexter, Michigan called to order by Mayor Keough on, January 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at 3515 Broad St., Dexter, MI 48130, changes to the Peddlers and Transient Merchants Ordinance were adopted:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Aldag, Hubbard, Semifero, Tell, Keough
MEMBERS ABSENT: Schlaff
The adopted changes included the addition of a solicitation opt-out registry: a list of addresses at which licensees may not hawk, peddle, or vend items. A new fee schedule was adopted, changing the rates for per-day and per-month licenses for transient merchants. There were also changes made to the enforcement section of the ordinance, including the charges for those who are found hawking, peddling, or vending without a license or who are in violation of the terms of the ordinance.
