Incident #: 26-1000Location: 200 block of Harrison Street
Date: March 12, 2026Time: 9:38 am
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was asked to respond to the Chelsea Police Department lobby to contact a complainant who wanted to file a larceny report. The complainant went on to state that she had been allowing the suspect, identified as a 27-year-old Detroit woman, to stay at her residence for a short time. The complainant stated that the suspect had moved out and that is when she discovered that several items from the home were missing. The incident remains open and was turned over to the investigator for any additional follow-up investigation, warrant submission, and review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
Incident #: 26-991Location: 8000 block of Werkner Road
Date: March 11, 2026Time: 3:00 am
INFORMATION: During routine patrol, an officer was dispatched to the 8000 block of Werkner Road regarding a report of a forced-entry burglary that reportedly occurred on the evening of March 11th at approximately 3:00 am. The complainant reported that the forced entry had been discovered later in the morning and stated that it appeared that the suspect vehicle had driven into a locked gate to force entry into the property. The suspect(s) reportedly stole building materials, consisting of brass and copper fittings and then left the area. The suspect vehicle is described as a possible GM full-size four-door pickup, light in color; the passenger-side front rim is believed to be black, and the remaining rims appear to be factory gray/silver.


Incident #: 26-960Location: 300 block of Wilkinson Street
Date: March 10, 2026Time: 11:42 am
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, an officer was assigned a fraud complaint from a complainant who had come into the Chelsea Police Department. The complainant stated that she had been contacted by her financial institution, which reported that they had discovered a check had been fraudulently drawn on her account. The complainant provided a copy of the fraudulent check that had been cashed. Through additional investigation, the suspect was identified as a 49-year-old Detroit man. Attempts to contact the suspect by telephone were unsuccessful. The financial institution reported that it was able to place a stop payment on the check, preventing any financial loss to the complainant. The case was turned over to the investigator’s office for any additional investigation and follow-up.
