The Dexter field hockey team used a strong defensive showing to cruise to a 3-0 win over East Grand Rapids Thursday night.
The Dreadnaughts outshot EGR 16-2 in the match with Audrey Owen-Smith stopping both shots for the shutout in net for Dexter.
Dexter forced the play all night against EGR and had 10 penalty corners and allowed none.
Alli St Amour found the net first for the Dreads in what turned out to be the game winner.
The Dreadnaughts would get some insurance with goals by Aiden Weinmann and Addison Zogaib to put he game out of reach.
Hadley Clair picked up an assist for the Dreadnaughts.
Dexter dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Pioneer earlier in the week.
The Dreads outshot Pioneer 11-8, but it was Pioneer who found the net in the second half for the games lone goal.
Dexter improved to 8-2-3 overall on the season.
