The Dexter High School girls’ swim and dive team earned a hard-fought 100–86 victory over Bedford on Thursday evening, Sept. 25, at the Dexter Community Pool, where the Dexter swimmers also honored teachers who have made a significant impact on their lives.
Dexter opened the night by taking first in the 200-yard medley relay as the quartet of Junior Kayce McAllister, Freshman Caroline Fealy, Senior Bekah Murillo, and Sophomore Delia Smaby touched in 2:08.58. The win set the tone for a competitive meet.
Freshman standout Brooke Ganas claimed two individual wins — the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.55) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.32) — and also anchored Dexter’s winning 200-yard freestyle relay with Fealy, Sophomore Holly Myers, and Junior Ellie Saah in 1:59.92. Myers and Saah are both divers who did a fantastic job swimming too!

Murillo added a victory in the 200-yard individual medley (2:30.49) and later led the distance charge by winning the 500-yard freestyle (5:55.65), with Smaby close behind in second (6:01.95).
Sprint specialist McAllister powered to first in the 100-yard freestyle (57.29) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.13). McAllister also anchored the meet-clinching 400-yard freestyle relay alongside Ganas, Smaby, and Murillo; the foursome clocked 4:03.23 to seal the win.

On the boards, Dexter swept the top three spots: Juniors Olivia Cummings (169.85), Ellie Saah (166.50), and Sophomore Lexi Gramling (155.85) out-scored Bedford 13–3 in diving points — a key cushion in the team race.
Additional point-scoring swims came from Elena Ragnes, Natalia Rivera, Ava Grant-Wall, and swimmer-divers Vivian Linebaugh and Holly Myers, highlighting Dexter’s depth.
Dexter returns to its home pool on Tuesday, September 30th at 6 pm against Ann Arbor Skyline.
