Learn how to manage conflicting political views within families and between friends by attending The Braver Angels Alliance of Washtenaw County Family and Politics Workshop. This event will take place in person at Sharon Township Hall on October 12, 2025 from 1-4 pm.
Braver Angels is the largest grass roots, cross partisan organization in the country working to decrease fear and hate between ordinary people with differing political opinions. The goal is to disagree strongly while listening to other viewpoints with respect and curiosity, not to change anyone’s mind. We are trying to understand the experiences, information sources, and values that underlie the other person’s position. Braver Angels believes that disagreement is essential in a democracy and that demeaning and demonizing those who vote differently from us undermines civic life and leads to worse outcomes for society.
