Washtenaw County To Host One-Time Agricultural Plastics Recycling Event
Heather Finch

In this workshop, you will learn how to make a dye bath using marigold flowers and a shibori technique. Shibori is a resist technique that might look similar to tie-dye; however, it has been around since the 6th century. Natural dyeing dates back even further to the year 2600 BC. Using what you’ve learned, you will create a beautiful pattern on a 100% cotton bandana and then place it into a dye bath made from marigolds that will produce a gorgeous golden yellow. If we have time at the end, there will be an option of altering the yellow dye to an olive green using ferrous sulfate. There will also be plenty of time for questions and answers, and to walk the magical grounds of the farm and maybe learn a little about CSA. Registration is required for this event; register HERE.
