Heather Finch

St. James’ Episcopal Church in downtown Dexter invites the community to its 20 th
Annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 6 th from 9:30 am until Noon at 3279
Broad St.
This Cookie Walk, the original Dexter Cookie Walk, has become a much
anticipated Dexter community event. Begun in 2004, organized by Sandy Hansen,
a church member, it continues to be a fund raiser for St. James’ outreach projects. It has steadily
grown from 30 kinds of cookies to over 70 varieties to choose from. St. James’ very talented bakers are led by Norma Amrhein, with help from a host
of others, who are busily preparing for your visit.
Amrhein says “Our cookies are sold by the pound. Proceeds from the Cookie
Walk go to support church projects, missions, and local charities. Please stop by
and see what we have baked for you.”
While the sale does not begin until 9:30 am, the Church doors open at 9:00 am.
Those arriving early will be seated inside the church and given a number, to insure
their place in line.
A member church of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan, St. James’ is an open and
inclusive church community in downtown Dexter. We meet every Sunday at 9:30
a.m. at 3279 Broad Street.
