SSLDL TO CELEBRATE OPENING OF REMODELED TEEN AREA
The library will be hosting a Welcome Week celebration with raffles, snacks, and more.
The Salem-South Lyon District Library will be celebrating the opening of its remodeled teen
area with a five-day Welcome Week event from March 16-20. The event will feature gift card
giveaways March 16-19, and a grand prize winner will be chosen Friday, March 20.
All teens are welcome to enter daily giveaways and enjoy free snacks in the remodeled area,
which features new shelving, whiteboards, plush seating, and plenty of room for group work.
“Our remodeled teen area is a great place to relax or study,” said Kathy Merucci, SSLDL’s
director. “We worked hard to create a space that every teen can enjoy, and we look forward to
celebrating its re-opening.”
Teens will be able to enter raffles at any time by putting their name and contact information
inside a dedicated raffle box. Winners will be notified next-day. There will also be a month-long
March Madness bracket on display, allowing teens to vote their favorite books to victory.
On the page below, you can access photos of the newly remodeled area. All questions about
the teen area or Welcome Week celebration may be directed to Sarah Scherdt or Tina
