Lima Twp: Board Meeting Synopsis 3/9/26

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Members present: Supervisor Bill Van Riper, Treasurer Nanette Havens, Clerk Ann Kwaske, Trustee Greg McKenzie and Trustee Dale Luick.

Motion by McKenzie, supported by Havens, to move the Renius & Renius Contract from the Consent Agenda to New Business and approve the agenda as amended. All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, supported by Havens, to approve the consent agenda of Minutes of February 9 Regular Meeting, February 17 Special Joint Meeting, February 17 Policy Workshop, and February 26 Budget Workshop, Approval of Waterloo Grit and Gravel – Bike Race Route, Approve Clerk to sign Siegfried Crandall (Auditor) Engagement Letter, Payroll ($14,221.78), and Accounts Payable ($37,513.63).  All ayes.  Motion passed.

McKenzie offered, supported by Luick, Resolution 26-09 Local Governing Body Resolution for Charitable Gaming License for Union 4 Life.  Upon a roll call vote, all ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by McKenzie, supported by Luick, to appoint Marlene Consiglio as alternate Lima representative to the Joint Municipal Area Planning Commission.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Kwaske, supported by Van Riper, to permit the Planning Commission, at its discretion, to waive the strict application of Section 6.2.5 of the zoning ordinance, which requires double rows of evergreen plantings around portions of the site perimeter shared with parcels zoned R-1A.  4 ayes, 1 nay.  Motion passed.

Motion by McKenzie, supported by Luick, to conditionally approve a Mill Creek Research Council wall map and narrative for display at the Township Hall, pending final review and approval of display by the Board.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, supported by McKenzie, to authorize the Supervisor to sign the letter of approval for a conservation easement on the McCalla property at the southeast corner of Jerusalem and S Steinbach Roads, parcel G -07-25-200-003.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by McKenzie, supported by Luick, to approve the Renius & Renius Contract with dates corrected to April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2030 at a cost of $19 per parcel for 2100 parcels for a yearly amount of $39,900 payable per month and authorize the Supervisor and Clerk to sign.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Havens, supported by Luick, to adjourn.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Meeting adjourned at 7:41 pm.
