The Planning Commission will meet in Meeting Hall at Township Hall at 827 N. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public meeting of the Scio Township Planning Commission will be held at the Scio Township Hall, 827 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, on MONDAY, April 13, 2026 at 6:00 PM.  During this meeting the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the following matters:

To review proposed amendments to the Scio Township Zoning Ordinance.  Specifically, a new Section 36-151, High Resource Demand Facilities and Data Centers.  It should be noted that the following notice is a SUMMARY ONLY.  The full text of the proposed changes may be viewed at the Scio Township Offices, 827 N. Zeeb Road by interested persons during office hours weekdays, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM or on the township website at sciotownshipmi.gov. 

The proposed amendments would include the following sections of the Scio Township Zoning Ordinance:

            Article 36-V, Supplementary Regulations, Sub-section 36-151, High Resource Demand Facilities and Data Centers.  A new subsection with regulations for the development of High Resource Demand Facilities and Data Centers which includes: “Purpose and Intent”; “Applicability”; “Definitions”; “Districts Permitted”; “Dimensional Standards”; “Site and Design Standards Applying to All High Resource Demand Facilities and Centers”; “Performance Standards”; “Energy and Sustainability”; “Security and Emergency Access”; “Use of Consultants and Cost Recovery”; “Monitoring and Reporting”; and “Additional Site and Design Standards Applying to High Resource Demand Facilities and Large-Scale Data Centers”.

Any person having interest in said Township or their duly appointed representatives shall there and then be heard at the above described meetings or adjournment thereat relative to any matters that should come before the Planning Commission.

Scio Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting/hearing upon 10 days notice to Scio Township.  Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact Scio Township by writing or calling the Scio Township Staff at (734) 369-9400.
