Scio Twp Police Summary, Feb. 2026

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office reported 558 calls for service in Scio Township in February 2026. Total calls for 2026 (Jan-Feb) are 1,179, down from 1,191 for the same period last year, a 1% decrease.

Traffic Activity Declines

Deputies conducted 60 traffic stops in February. Twenty-seven citations were issued.

Violations included speeding, disobeying traffic signals and stop signs, improper lane use, and use of mobile devices while driving. Most traffic stops were related to general traffic violations (34), speeding (19), and equipment violations (4).

Twenty-nine traffic crashes were reported.

Crime and Incident Overview

Deputies responded to four assaults (two felonious/aggravated and 2 nonaggravated), two criminal sexual conduct, one vehicle theft, one OWI, and 11 medical assists.

Other calls included burglary, stalking (2), and embezzlement.

 Fraud-related cases included credit card fraud, identity theft (3), wire fraud, and retail fraud.

Calls and Community Activity

Other common calls included 201 non-criminal complaints, 96 miscellaneous complaints, and 88 miscellaneous traffic complaints. Deputies also responded to 40 sick or injury complaints and 30 alarm calls during the month.

Deputies spent 1,291 minutes assisting outside the township, while outside agencies provided 1,440 minutes of assistance within Scio Township.
