PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public meeting of the Scio Township Zoning Board of Appeals will be (held at the Scio Township Hall, 827 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, via zoom,) on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 7:00 P.M.  During this meeting, the Zoning Board of Appeals will hold public hearings on the following matters pursuant to the Scio Township Codified Zoning Ordinance of 2009, as amended:

1. Variance # 25001, applicant Shawn Batt for property owner Donald McDevitt.  For a vacant parcel located at the northwest corner of Burton Avenue and Park Road, H -08-22-392-022, to allow the construction of a new home with the following variances:

1. To allow a front yard setback (Burton Avenue) of 22 feet rather than the required 35-foot front yard setback.
2. To allow a rear yard setback (west side) of 15 feet rather than the required 35-foot rear yard setback.
3. To allow a corner/side setback (Park Road) of 31 feet rather than the minimum 35-foot corner/side setback of 35 feet.
4. To allow total lot coverage of 24% rather than the maximum lot coverage of 20%.

All variances above are pursuant to section 36-75, Schedule of Regulations of the Scio Township zoning ordinance.    

Persons or their duly appointed representative having interest in said applications shall there and then be heard at the above described meetings or adjournment thereof relative to any matters that should come before the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Details concerning the aforementioned matters may be examined by interested persons and written comments will be received, at the Scio Township Offices at 827 N. Zeeb Road during office hours, weekdays, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.  Persons with disabilities are encouraged to participate.  Accommodations, including sign language interpreters, may be arranged by contacting the Scio Township’s Clerk’s Office at 734-369-9400 during the above hours, at least seven days in advance.
