PUBLIC NOTICE

Township of Sharon, Washtenaw County, Michigan

Amendments to the Sharon Township Medical Marihuana Ordinance.

Public Notice is hereby given that the Township Board of Sharon Township has adopted Ordinance Amendments, summaries of which appear below.

Sharon Township has adopted an amendment to the State-Licensed Medical Marijuana Facilities Ordinance, Chapter IV, Article 7, Section 7.2, by revising the definitions of “Grower” and “Processor” to include;   A “Grower” shall also mean a commercial entity that cultivates, dries, trims or cures and packages marijuana for sale and delivery to a Marihuana Establishment or an individual of the age of 21 or older if the Grower first has a marihuana retailer license issued under the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act or a provisioning center license issued under the medical marihuana facilities licensing act, a Township Permit pursuant to Section 4 of this Ordinance, and a state grower license pursuant to the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act. Such delivery must be pursuant to Administrative Rule 420.207. No inperson sales shall take place on the grower’s premises and absolutely no storefront shall be permitted on the premises.  “Processor” means a licensee that is a commercial entity that purchases marijuana from a grower and that extracts resin from the marijuana or creates a marijuana- infused product for sale and transfer in packaged form to a provisioning center. A “Processor” shall also mean a commercial entity that purchases marijuana from a grower and that extracts resin from the marijuana or creates a marijuana- infused product for sale and transfer in packaged form to a Marihuana Establishment or an individual of the age of 21 or older if the Processor first has a marihuana retailer license issued under the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act or a provisioning center license issued under the medical marihuana facilities licensing act, a Township Permit pursuant to Section 5 of this Ordinance, and a state processor license pursuant to the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act. Such delivery must be pursuant to Administrative Rule 420.207. No in-person sales shall take place on the processor’s premises and absolutely no storefront shall be permitted on the premises.

Copies of the complete text and true copy of the Ordinance Amendments can be reviewed or obtained at the office of the Sharon Township Clerk on Thursdays between 9:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. at Sharon Township Hall, 18010 Pleasant Lake Rd, Manchester, MI 48158. The complete text and true copy of the Ordinance is also be posted on the Sharon Township website – www.sharontownship.org.
