Application for Solar Energy Facility Exemption Certificate

The York Township Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on November 18, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., at the York Township Hall, 11560 Stony Creek Road, Milan, MI 48160, to consider an application for a Solar Energy Facility Tax Exemption Certificate from White Tail Solar, LLC. The Solar Energy Facilities Taxation Act, PA 108 of 2023, allows White Tail Solar, LLC to request the Township to grant a 20-year exemption from ad valorem property taxes and to establish a specific tax upon the solar facilities based upon the nameplate capacity of the facility.

A copy of the application is available for inspection during ordinary business hours at the York Township Hall and also will be available at the public hearing. Written comments will be accepted prior to and during the Hearing.  Questions, comments and/or requests for reasonable auxiliary aids or services for individuals with special needs should be made by written notice, four (4) business days prior to the Public Hearing, to the Township Clerk’s Office, during regular business hours, 734-439-8842.
