SYNOPSIS

SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR MEETING

APRIL 14, 2026, 6:00 pm

827 N ZEEB RD, ANN ARBOR, MI 48103

          Approved the minutes of March 24, 2026 Regular Meeting.

          Approved the payment of the bills.

          Accepted FOIA appeals.

          Approved the expenditure for postage of required election related mailings for the 2026 elections.

          Approved renewal of a lease contract with Pitney Bowes for the Township postage machine.

Approved a permit for a fireworks display to be held on June 27, 2026 with a rain date of June 28, 2026 on behalf of Loch Alpine Improvement Association.

          Modified the Multimodal Transit Committee charge to allow up to two resident users of Scio’s

          transit system and appointed Kristina Fullerton to the committee.

          Authorized payment to Cunningham Limp for work on the Fire Station 2 project.

          Authorized the Fire Chief to enter into a contract with G2 Consulting for materials for Fire

          Station 2.

          Authorized a purchase order to Emergent Health Partners for fire dispatch service for FYE 2027.

          Authorized execution of a contract with OHM Advisors for the construction phase of the fire

          station 2 project as outlined in the construction services amendment.

          Approved the installation of security cameras and entry control improvements at Township

          facilities as outlined in the proposal.

          Authorized expenditure to Bendzinski & Co. Municipal Finance Advisors to provide services as

          Registered Municipal Advisor for issuances of 2026 Capital Improvement Bonds.

          Authorized the listing of a Township-owned property at 6540 Jackson Road with Swisher

          Commercial at market value and to receive offers for purchase, and to direct all proceeds to the

          Township’s Public Transit Fund.

          Declined the expression of interest by E.T. McKenzie regarding the vacant Township-owned parcel

          located on Staebler Road Northeast.

Directed MML to propose a conditional job offer, to fill the vacant Operations Director position,  contingent upon successful completion of a background check to candidate Nathaniel Clark.

Directed the Township Attorney to work with an appropriate consultant to assess the working

relationships and culture of the Scio Township Board and Board-employee relationships.

Approved the contract between Dexter Senior Citizens, Inc. and Scio Township for the period of

January 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027 and to approve payment of invoice #4868.

Directed Human Resources Manager to return to the Board with a proposal to address the issue of

Employee compensation related to the period between April 1, 2026 and April 18, 2026.

Authorized a market increase, effective April 18, 2026,  to salary ranges by 2.5%, in wages only, to all regular full-time employees and all temporary employees with regularly scheduled shifts, except for those employees  entitled to annual increases under a collective bargaining agreement along with other listed exceptions.

Approved the resolutions to request appropriation and expenditure of DDA returned funds to the

Dexter Senior Center and transit.
